When you hear Dangote Refinery is worth $20 billion, don’t assume it’s because of the revenue it generated. For the first five years, it generated nothing, absolutely zero naira.
But behind that “zero” there was massive value being created. The construction was going on, systems, structures, assets were all being designed to refine oil and serve a billion-dollar market.
Value came first and then revenue came later.
Too many businesses collapse because they expect revenue too early. They forget that profit is a reward for value, not just activity.
Focus on creating value, once value is undeniable, money will follow.
